1. Who operates this service
BRACU Course Tracker is an independently operated academic planning tool maintained by SK Reyad Ali. Questions about this policy can be sent to skreyad2016@gmail.com.
2. Data we process
Account and profile
When a student uses Google sign-in, the service receives the name, email address, and available Google profile photo needed to identify the account. It also stores profile details you provide, such as Student ID, program, starting semester, and an optional custom profile photo.
Academic planning data
This includes semesters, courses, grades, faculty selections, attempt status, GPA/CGPA calculations, settings, and tracker backup or sync data.
Support and administration
Support requests can include your name, email, message, ticket status, and replies. Account roles, permissions, status, sign-in activity summaries, and security or administrator audit records are processed to operate protected features.
Browser and technical data
The app uses necessary authentication session data and localStorage for theme, tracker state, and browser-side preferences. Hosting and security providers may process basic request information such as IP address, browser details, and timestamps.
3. How we use data
- Authenticate users and enforce official student or administrator access.
- Provide the tracker, profile, dashboard, sync, reports, and academic calculations.
- Respond to support requests and show updates to signed-in users.
- Prevent abuse, protect accounts, manage permissions, and troubleshoot the service.
- Maintain and improve reliability without using personal data for advertising.
We do not sell personal data.
4. Services that help operate the app
- Google — account authentication and available profile identity data.
- Supabase — authentication, database, private profile photo storage, and Edge Functions.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — anti-bot and security verification.
- Web3Forms — delivery of support emails to the service owner.
- Vercel — website hosting and request delivery when the site is deployed there.
These providers process data only as needed to supply their part of the service. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law or protect users and the service.
5. Storage, retention, and security
Account and academic data is kept while it is needed to provide the service, maintain security, resolve support requests, or meet legitimate operational requirements. Local browser data remains on the device until the user, browser, or app clears it.
Reasonable safeguards include role-based access, database access policies, private avatar storage, protected Edge Functions, and stronger verification for administrative access. No online service can promise absolute security.
6. Your choices
You can update eligible profile details, remove a profile photo, export or clear local tracker data, and contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data associated with your account. Some security or audit information may need to be retained where reasonably necessary.
This service is intended for university students and administrators and is not knowingly designed for children.
7. Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when the service or its data practices change. The effective date above will be revised for material updates.
